ESSEX POLICE AWARD FOR SAFER CAR PARKS |

Essex Police recently received an award for Safer Car Parks at Stansted Airport.
The presentation was held at the Radisson SAS, Stansted Airport and was the Award was accepted by Supt. Michelle Dunn, Divisional Commander of Essex Police.
Supt. Dunn expressed that she was pleased that the two sites had taken the step to ensure they upheld the high security standards as required by the Safer car Aprkis Award, to ensure that the airport remains a safe place in which to use and work.
Supt. Dunn advised that
it is essential that businesses work in partnership with the police
and BAA to make it one of the safest in terms not only of terrorism
but also for crime.

Hiring a car at Stansted Airport using your fingerprint
Customers wishing to hire a vehicle at Stansted Airport will now be asked to provide their fingerprint in an attempt to assist Essex Police crack down on crime. Prints will be stored by the car hire companies and handed over to the Essex Police if the car is stolen or involved in any type of crime.
DS Vic Murphy, of Essex Police based at Stansted Airport, advised that the scheme is aimed at criminals who use car hire companies and provide false ID and credit cards.
